This blog focuses on the misuse of the word Career Counselling. If you ask any lay man or a common student in Pakistan, they will say, that a Career Counsellor is any consultant who sends a student for higher education outside Pakistan. And to add to the confusion, quite a few leading educational institutions, proudly display in their advertisement, that we have a ‘Career Counselling Seminar’ available during their Open day sessions. I feel that a clear difference between Advice, Guidance and counselling must be communicated to all the people, so that the misuse of the word could be minimized.

I’ll speak to you soon.

Career Guidance, my first every blog...

Hi everybody! This is my first ever blog, on the topic of Career Guidance, by the 1st Qualified Career Guidance Adviser in Pakistan (Amin Saleem), PostGraduate in Career Guidance (London, UK).

This individual is none other than me.

Quite a lot has been written on the need of career guidance in various leading Pakistani newspapers in the last 2 decades and the importance of a QUALIFIED career adviser has also been emphasized, but hardly anyone has dared to get a Qualification in this field, which means lack of Action!

The person writing this blog has dared to get the Qualification of Career Guidance, from the best university in entire Europe, where, forget about any Pakistani, there was not a single south Asian individual on the entire Course.

Even attending various conferences and seminars on the topic of Career Guidance in UK, didn't lead to finding a single individual from Pakistan. While we will explore more about Career Guidance in my future blogs and how it can make a difference in the lives of an individual and the overall economy, I would like you to have a look at my talk show on the ‘Importance of Career Guidance’, which is available here.
